Dog training from home

Many people are of the opinion that dog's can be trained at training centers that are away from house. Dog training from home is also possible. As many assume dog training at your home is not a time consuming affair. Dog training from home requires a lot of patience from the owner. Training at home is the best as the puppies are used to the surrounding. Dog training from home also saves lots of time for the owner as he need not spend time in traveling to and from the dog training facility.

At home you can train the dogs with simple commands while watching your favorite program on the television. For example, when the dog is with you in the room, command “stay" or "sit" to the dog, when you are leaving the room. In case the dog obeys the command, treat him with a reward. If it is otherwise subject the dog for mild punishments such as tethering him with the pole.

If your home has a beautiful lawn in front and you have the mail box placed at the gate which is at a distance of a few minutes walk, you have excellent opportunity to train the dog from home. Just ask the dog to sit till you go, get the mail from the mail box and return to the house. Just watch, whether the dog stays at the door step till you come back. This way one can make the dog listen and follow simple instructions.

Training the dog from home is the simple and best way. You can train the dog while you are working at the yard also. Either you can ask the dog to sit or sleep near the pile of leaves gathered in the yard. Just see whether the dog obeys your command or not. In case the obeys, you can command the dog for some other work like sweeping the leaves from the yard etc. But it is better to practice one command at one time.

Never train the dog from home when you are not well or down mentally due to some reason. Same should be the treatment if the dog is not well also. As much as possible let the commands be as natural as possible. Carrot and stick policy is the best for dog training.

Let the punishments be very mild. Let the punishments just make the dog understand your displeasure when the commands are disobeyed. Dogs are very clever animals they can understand the displeasure of the owner from the grim of the face. Hence brush aside the fears of training the dog from home, just go ahead and be a proud owner of an obedient dog.
